Installing the Security Certificate
To securely connect to Stomper’s servers, every device needs a security certificate. This certificate is a digital file that acts like an ID for your device, confirming its authenticity and permission to connect to our VPN. By installing the certificate, you’re ensuring a trusted, encrypted link between your device and Stomper’s servers, which is essential for protecting your data and maintaining a secure connection.
Each device type (Android, iOS, and Windows) has its own process for installing the certificate. Here’s the Installing the Security Certificate section with a step-by-step approach for each platform:
For Android (Root Access Required) #
- Root Your Device
- Stomper requires root access on Android to install a root certificate. If your device isn’t rooted, refer to an online guide specific to your device model.
- Download the Certificate
- Visit the Stomper website and download the security certificate to your device.
- Install the Certificate
- Go to Settings > Security > Install from storage.
- Find the certificate file you downloaded and select it to install. This certificate allows OpenVPN to authenticate your connection with Stomper.
For iOS #
- Download the Certificate
- Access the Stomper website on your iPhone or iPad and download the security certificate.
- Install the Certificate
- Open Settings > Profile Downloaded (this option will appear once the certificate is downloaded).
- Follow the prompts to install the certificate on your device.
- Enable Full Trust
- After installation, go to Settings > General > About > Certificate Trust Settings.
- Toggle on Full Trust for the Stomper certificate to complete the setup.
For Windows (Steam) #
- Download the Certificate
- Go to the Stomper website and download the certificate file to your Windows device.
- Install the Certificate
- Open Control Panel > Internet Options > Content > Certificates.
- In the Trusted Root Certification Authorities tab, click Import and select the Stomper certificate file you downloaded.
- Complete the installation by following the on-screen instructions.
